Current situation in the countries we support

Bhutan successfully eliminated rubella from the country in 2023, following polio in 2014 and measles in 2017.Thanks to your support, our activities are progressing smoothly.

Meanwhile, a massive earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck Myanmar in March, killing more than 5,000 people and injuring more than 7,000.More than three months have passed since the disaster, but recovery has not yet been made, and even the cleaning up of buildings has not progressed. With hospitals also damaged and children unable to receive adequate medical care, measles, tetanus, whooping cough, and other diseases pose a major threat to the surviving children. We are working with local UNICEF to prevent infectious diseases in ethnic minority areas.
